Mauricio Pochettino is now the new head coach of the United States Men's National Team.

Mauricio Pochettino has now officially secured his new job after leaving Chelsea, which will see him coach at the FIFA World Cup in 2026.

He is the new head coach of the United States Men's National Team (USMNT).

After just one season at Chelsea, the Argentine parted ways with the club after helping them move from 12th in the Premier League the season before he arrived to qualifying for the UEFA Europa League 2024/25.

After 15 years as a club manager, Pochettino is now taking on his first international position.

Pochettino told USSoccer.com that joining U.S. Soccer was not just about football; it's about the journey this team and this country are on.

I was inspired by the energy, the passion, and the hunger to achieve something truly historic here. Leading the U.S. Men's National Team in front of fans as passionate as the players was an opportunity I could not pass up.

We have a team full of talent and potential, and together, we can make something special that the whole nation can be proud of."

After a global search for Gregg Berhalter's replacement, US Soccer sporting director Matt Crocker appointed Pochettino as head coach until the World Cup on US soil.

Crocker said of the appointment, "Mauricio is a serial winner with a passion for player development and a proven ability to build cohesive and competitive teams."

We are thrilled to have Mauricio by our side as we embark on this exciting journey to achieve global success. His track record speaks for itself, and I am confident he is the right person to harness the immense potential within our talented squad.
