A quality player, he is
As Kaizer Chiefs prepare for their first match of the season, Given Msimango shared some insight into the qualities of new signing and potential centre-back partner Inacio Miguel.
After finishing in 10th place on the DStv Premiership table last season, Chiefs have moved quickly in the transfer market to strengthen their squad.
Miguel is one of the seven players acquired and is only the second signing after Gaston Sirino to have played Champions League football last season among the seven.
Msimango told journalists at the club's media open day on Wednesday that Miguel is a quality player.
"I've played a few friendlies with him and I see what the club saw in him. He is a good technical player as well as a leader.
"He will definitely add quality to the team and improve it."
On Saturday, Amakhosi take on Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership.
Center-back is Nasreddine Nabi's biggest headache as head coach.
According to Msimango, the 27-year-old could start alongside Miguel in midfield.
The team's full training on Wednesday morning did not include Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, who serves a suspension from last season.
As for new signing Rushwin Dortley, he played for Bafana Bafana on Tuesday afternoon and is likely to join Chiefs' training sessions on Thursday and Friday only.
Msimango and Miguel appear to be the most likely pairing on Saturday.
Kickoff for the game is set for 15:00 at Toyota Stadium.
