Cristiano Ronaldo will not be moving to the Russian Premier League, says his agency Gestifute.

CR7's agent has now taken a strong stance on the player's potential move to a particular European league.

There is speculation about what Ronaldo will do when his contract at Al Nassr expires at the end of the season.

Ronaldo recently confirmed that he won't be retiring any time soon as he still sees a future in international football.

It never crossed my mind that my cycle [with Portugal] had come to an end," Ronaldo said last week while on national team duty, according to ESPN. "Quite the contrary: It gave me even more motivation to continue."

Despite it being unclear what the future holds for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner at club level, his agent, Gestifute, was asked about a move to the Russian Premier League.

Ronaldo is unlikely to join the RPL before the end of his career, Gestifute told Telecom Asia Sport.

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, all Russian clubs and national teams have been banned from UEFA events.

As the war continued, players and coaches broke their contracts and found jobs elsewhere, leading to an exodus of foreign stars from the league.

FIFA announced in March 2022 that foreign players and coaches have the right to unilaterally suspend their employment contracts in Russia until the end of the season [2021/22].

As UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said last year, lifting Russia's ban from UEFA's competitions would be difficult until the war in Ukraine ends.
