Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela admits that he tried to get intel on Kaizer Chiefs mentor Nasreddine Nabi’s style of play leading up to the two sides’ clash in the Betway Premiership opener.
With Gallants back in topflight football, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa welcome Amakhosi to the Toyota Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday, September 14.
Malesela spoke to the media at the Betway Premiership launch at the Galleria on Tuesday afternoon, stressing the importance of preparing his troops rather than worrying about what Chiefs will do. As Malesela explained, it's a blessing in disguise that we're playing Kaizer Chiefs first because all the supporters will want to attend.
It's a great launch for our team that we play Kaizer Chiefs, and I hope we win so Bloemfontein can just buzz all weekend."
'Dance' jokingly replied: "For Kaizer Chiefs? I know, I've seen (laughs). No, I'm kidding.
We tried to look at how other teams he [coach Nabi] coached played.
You can't read too much into what the other team has done when there's a change of personnel. You can't read too much into what the other team has been doing because you need this one.
"Even on the day of the game, things can change.
"We'll just take what we want to dish out and work from there," he said.
