Three of Magesi's not-so-famous players have been tipped for big futures, with one being compared to Orlando Pirates' Patrick "Tito" Maswanganyi.
Next Wednesday, Magesi will face provincial rivals Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium in their first game of the season after winning the second-tier championship in 2023/24.
Since I've had my eye trained for many years, I believe there are a lot of players in the PSL who are on track to become household names. There's a player like Delano Abrahams from Tuks... he's a right-back, he can play as a winger, he can play as a striker. It's guaranteed that he'll be in high demand very soon. Another one is Tshepo Mashigo, who was at the DDC of Sekhukhune," Larsen said.
"I signed him [Mashigo] in January last year, and he hasn't missed a match since he arrived at the club... a very skilled player in the mold of Maswanganyi... not the same player, but in the same mold.
Then there's Anathi Ngwadla, who set the NFD alight last season for us despite being the shortest player in the league. He was at Cape Town City DDC, but was deemed too short to be promoted. I look forward to seeing him succeed in the league. “The South African public will be talking about these players in 12 months.”
As rookies, Larsen wants his boys to treat opponents with respect, even as he encourages them to play fearlessly. "This league is tough, so we've got to treat the teams with respect," Larsen said.
We are the small boys in the league, and we must respect everybody, but at the same time we must not fear anyone. We must be brave, embrace the challenge of being in the Betway Premiership.
