The Pirates midfielder bangs in a stoppage-time winner for his second goal at the death in four days.
As Hugo Broos' side began their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on Tuesday with a 3-2 win over South Sudan at Juba Stadium, Thalente Mbatha netted again in stoppage time.
With the home side left utterly despondent, the 24 year old Orlando Pirates midfielder came off the bench and rifled home from the edge of the area to give Bafana all three points. Bafana drew 2-2 with Uganda at Orlando Stadium on Friday, which marked the second time in four days that Mbatha played as a supersub. He also scored an equalizer in stoppage time.
