Bafana Bafana recorded their first Group K 2025 AFCON Qualifiers win with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over South Sudan at Juba National Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
In the 15th minute, Tito Odong Okello scored from a penalty after Siyabonga Ngezana brought him down.
Almost immediately, Bafana responded with Oswin Appollis finding the top corner after Aubrey Modiba set him up.
When Lyle Foster headed at Majak Mawith in the 27th minute, Bafana missed an opportunity to take the lead.
With only Mawith to beat in the 33rd minute, Teboho Mokoena skied his effort from inside the box.
In the 39th minute, Modiba unleashed a thunderous set-piece, but Mawith managed to tip it over the bar.
Khuliso Mudau's crossbar strike in the 44th minute denied Bafana the lead.
Bafana led 2-1 at halftime thanks to Appollis' brace.
Valentino Yuel scored from a deadball situation in the 57th minute to make it 2-2.
Substitute Relebohile Mofokeng saw his scuffed shot sail past the Sudanese goal in the 75th minute.
A few minutes later, Mofokeng tried his luck from close range, but Mawith parried his shot.
In the 82nd minute, Elias Mokwana was denied by an onrushing Mawith.
For the second match running, Thalente Mbatha came off the bench to fire another left-footed shot from the edge of the box to give the visitors the win.
