In their first Nations League game of the season, France beat neighbours Belgium 2-0.

After being beaten 3-1 by Italy in Paris last Friday, the French made eight changes to their starting lineup, including Kylian Mbappe.

In the 29th minute, Randal Kolo Muani gave the hosts the lead after Belgium goalkeeper Koen Casteels saved Ousmane Dembele's scuffed shot straight into the path of the Paris Saint-Germain striker.

In the 57th minute, Dembele skipped sideways along the edge of the Belgium box before finding space to fire a superb shot past Casteels.

On Monday, Italy defeated Israel in Budapest to open up a three-point lead in Group A2.

Before the break, Davide Frattesi gave Italy the lead when he bundled the ball home with his chest and Moise Kean made it 2-0 from a rebound just after the hour mark.

Mohammed Abu Fani scored Israel's goal in the 90th minute.

Erling Haaland scored an 80th-minute winner as Norway edged past Austria 2-1, despite an injury scare for Martin Odegaard.
